Annual General Meeting (AGM)

This is the annual shareholder meeting. All companies apart from the very small are required to have an annual general meeting by law. The background to the company's annual accounts are normally covered in the AGM as well voting for new directors.

   Annual General Meeting.

   Called some time after the financial year-end, inviting shareholders to vote acceptance of the company's annual report, balance sheet and final dividend. Companies often use the meeting to tell shareholders about corporate business prospects in the early months of the new financial year.
